However, with Wade’s posse on their trail, the mission soon becomes a violent, impossible journey toward each man’s destiny.”

My Review:

3:10 To Yuma is an action packed Western film which is a remake of the original 1957 version of the same name. The movie takes place in the late 1800’s, and revolves around the characters Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) and Dan Evans (Christian Bale). When the outlaw Wade is captured, Evans (a Civil War veteran), offers to bring/get him on the 3:10 train to Yuma, where he will be delivered to prison. As the movie goes on, the two men grow a respect for each other despite their differences. Nonetheless, Evans must fight through Wade’s hordes of men to get him to the destination. 3:10 To Yuma is filled with a great cast and great acting which helps you really care for both of the characters, even though they’re on completely opposite ends. The pacing of the film is great, blending the perfect amount of story and action. This is one of the very few situations where I can say that I honestly really enjoyed both the original and the remake. I’ve always really enjoyed Western movies but there haven’t been many that truly stood out to me. With that being said, both 3:10 To Yuma films are right up there as some of my favorites. I highly recommend this film to absolutely anyone. You definitely don’t have to enjoy a specific genre to have a good time with this one.

Picture & Audio Quality:

As far as the Picture & Audio Quality on this 4K Ultra HD goes…it can be hit or miss. Although the movie looks fantastic regardless, when compared to the Bluray, it’s not always superior. There are moments which show that the 4K resolves some of the unnecessary grain that you experience on the Bluray but then there are other moments where the quality and color seem to be much more dull. I’m not too sure why this is the case but it was definitely a bit disappointing. However, the audio didn’t seem to suffer at all. From the sounds of the horses running to the gun blasts during the shootout scenes, the Audio Quality was always really well done. Not to mention the fantastic soundtrack that’s included as well. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love watching a movie at home that makes you feel like you’re at the theater.
