“In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a comic book fan dons the persona of his favourite hero to save his enthusiastic friend and fight a tyrannical overlord.”

My Review:

Turbo Kid revolves around a character who is referred to as The Kid. He lives and survives on his own, in a post apocalyptic world known as the Wasteland. One day, as he’s reading a comic book about his favorite superhero “Turbo Rider”, he meets a girl named Apple. Although Apple is strange, The Kid takes a liking to her. When Apple gets captured by Zeus, the main villain in the movie, The Kid is determined to save her. He stumbles upon the real Turbo Rider’s equipment, and decides to take on the superhero role, and become Turbo Kid. This has to be one of the most fun post apocalyptic movies that I have ever seen. It has such a retro feel to it that makes it seem like you’re watching a movie from the 80’s. Everything from the characters, to the death scenes, makes this movie special. The over the top acting makes it even better, while the score and the sound effects seal the deal. There was not one moment during this movie, where I felt like I was bored. Even though the movie was already fantastic, seeing it on Bluray has made for an even better experience. The Picture Quality on the Bluray made the gritty environments, and the vibrant retro colors, look really nice. The Audio Quality was perfect, as the music and sound effects enhanced the feel of the movie even more. This set also includes some really cool Special Features such as The Making Of Turbo Kid. Overall, I had an absolute blast with this movie. I couldn’t have asked for a better cast to portray these incredibly fun characters. I honestly can’t seem to find one negative thing to say about it. I without a doubt, highly recommend this movie to everyone.

Special Features:

“Bloody Wasteland” – The Making of Turbo Kid

“T is for Turbo”

Overall Rating:

8.5 Out Of 10 Stars
